Whether You Are Just Starting Out, Want to Join or Grow a Preventive Medicine Practice – BodyLogicMD Is the Answer.
Founded in 2003, BodyLogicMD physician-owned practices make up the nation’s largest and fastest growing network of the most highly-trained physicians specializing in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Integrated with nutrition and cutting-edge therapies, BodyLogicMD’s medically supervised programs are for men and women seeking to achieve and maintain optimal health throughout their lives.
BodyLogicMD comprises a network of physicians, who are pioneers of the anti-aging industry and have been featured on Oprah.com, Fox News, and Dr. Oz, among many other established media outlets. Florida Trend’s December 2009 cover story featured BodyLogicMD as the national leader in the growing anti-aging industry.
The BodyLogicMD Business Solution
Each BodyLogicMD medical franchise practice is owned 100 percent by the physician. No physician has any ownership interest in BodyLogicMD. The physician owns a franchise license from BodyLogicMD (or contracts with a physician franchise owner). That license allows the physician to use the BodyLogicMD name and includes numerous administrative services provided to the physician’s practice by BodyLogicMD. Running a medical practice is time intensive and reduces the valuable time the physician may dedicate to the patient. BodyLogicMD provides the physician with a comprehensive set of administrative business solutions to aid efficiency and improve the effectiveness of practice operations.
The BodyLogicMD corporate staff ensures the physician and their office is ideally prepared for each patient’s appointment. It is a streamlined process designed to avoid the frustrations typically associated with visits to a doctor’s office, such as missing crucial documents, wayward lab results, and other potential mishaps that may impair the patient experience.
The BodyLogicMD corporate staff is available five days a week, 10-12 hours a day and is always ready to answer patient calls during these hours. The physician’s office is not staffed to provide this type of administrative service. BodyLogicMD assumes these responsibilities, allowing the physician to focus on providing the patient with the best clinical care possible and maximizing the appointment time with each patient.
Physicians keep 100 percent of all consultation fees paid. Each physician only pays BodyLogicMD for use of certain provided technologies, as well as other business and accounting services the physician may need.
The BodyLogicMD values, dedication to your patients, quality and safety of products and high standards are the foundations of the company’s success. BodyLogicMD partners with leading national pharmacies, supplement companies and specialty labs – all industry leaders in the anti-aging arena.
It is the physician’s choice where to send pharmacy prescriptions and supplement orders. However, BodyLogicMD has partnerships and programs available to ensure each patient receives quality products and excellent customer service.
If the physician writes a prescription and the patient takes it to a local pharmacy, the patient must track their reorders on their own; however, through the auto-order program, BodyLogicMD’s electronic medical records (EMR) system is designed to communicate directly with the partner pharmacies. This is applicable to not only the patient’s initial prescriptions and supplement orders, but also for all subsequent prescription and supplement orders, the patient may need to receive. The EMR system notifies the patient two weeks in advance when a reorder is about to be placed and reminds the patient once again before the order is sent to the pharmacy to be refilled.
Physicians may give a patient lab orders directly; however, most prefer to use the BodyLogicMD staff. The lab tests requested by the physician are supplied and processed by several different laboratories, depending upon the type of lab tests ordered by the physician for the patient. Quest and Physicians Lab are the most commonly used laboratories, but the physician may also order lab testing from Physicians Lab, Alcat, Spectracell, and Metametrix, as well as others, and may order from more than one lab at one time.
Practicing Cash-Based Medicine
Physicians of the BodyLogicMD network do not accept insurance because, generally, insurance reimbursement rates are too low to cover the services provided by the physician.
According to the Journal of American Medical Association, under the industry model of traditional medicine, the time a physician spends with a patient during an appointment averages approximately six minutes. A BodyLogicMD affiliated physician, however, cannot properly care for a patient in six minutes. The physician will spend an average of 60 minutes with each patient during an initial visit and 30-minutes on a follow-up appointment. Due to the uncertainty of insurance reimbursement rates, the physician must collect payment from the patient up front, but the patient can submit a claim to their insurance carrier for reimbursement. (Acceptance of insurance for lab testing and fees is determined by each independent laboratory – not the physician or BodyLogicMD.)
